The creator of Devil May Cry and Dragon's Dogma has left Capcom after 30 years of fruitful work
The unexpected news was shared by the famous Japanese game designer Hideaki Itsuno - the author of Devil May Cry and Dragon's Dogma.

On his X page Hideaki Itsuno announced his decision to leave Capcom "after 30 years and 5 months of work".
The developer was intrigued by the news that he will start another project in a "new environment" as early as September, but has yet to reveal which studio he has joined.
Hideaki Itsuno thanked the fans of his games for their support and attention over the years and promised that he will continue to release the same fun and beautiful games.
Hideaki Itsuno started his career at Capcom in 1994 and was responsible for the development of Street Fighter Alpha, Rival Schools and Power Stone. But he gained worldwide fame after the release of Devil May Cry, and his last project in the company was the highly regarded RPG Dragon's Dogma 2, released in March 2024.
