In early 2024, just after the deal with Microsoft was finalised, Blizzard cancelled development on an ambitious survival simulator that hadn't even had time to get an official title. This caused a big uproar in the gamer community, as it was Blizzard's first game on a new IP in years.

It seems that the famous studio has not given up on experiments and is already engaged in another project.

Here's What We Know

Senior Director of Production at Blizzard Entertainment Chris McCabe indicated on his LinkedIn page that he has been working on an unannounced AAA RPG-FPS project since April 2024.

The FPS reference has been removed at this point, but note that Blizzard has not previously created a first-person RPG. It is likely that "RPG-FPS" refers to a first-person shooter with role-playing elements and the concept may be reminiscent of Overwatch.

It is mentioned that the game will be released on PC and consoles, but without specifics.
