The Ukrainian Armed Forces will start using APC "Khorunzhyi", a deep modernisation of BTR-60

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and approved the delivery of the domestic armoured personnel carrier Khorunzhyi to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry's press service. The new APC is the result of a deep modernisation of the Soviet BTR-60.

The body of the Khorunzhy is made of high-quality Finnish steel. This has improved the ballistic protection of the vehicle without increasing its weight. The design of the hull bottom and special mine-resistant seats protect the troops from the effects of explosive devices equivalent to 6 kg of TNT. The new Ukrainian armoured personnel carrier is equipped with a combat module with a 14.5 mm machine gun or a 30x113 mm cannon. A 330 horsepower diesel engine accelerates the combat vehicle to a speed of over 80 km/h. The APC has a range of over 1500 km.

By the way, the armoured personnel carrier was developed by Practika. "The Khorunzhy can be produced in six versions: a linear armoured personnel carrier, a personnel carrier, as well as a sanitary evacuation, repair and evacuation, command and control and self-propelled mortar vehicles.
