Qualcomm has announced a new mid-range Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor

Qualcomm quietly announced a new mid-range Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset on its website over the weekend. This chipset replaces the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, as the Gen 2 version was not released.

Here's What We Know

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 features an 8-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It supports Full HD+ resolution displays with 120Hz refresh rate, and cameras up to 200 MP with video recording up to 4K 30k/sec. The chipset gets an Adreno 710 GPU, as well as support for LPDDR5 RAM up to 3200MHz and UFS 3.1 format storage. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 also supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E.

The new processor is designed for improved artificial intelligence, including activity tracking and noise cancellation during calls. Qualcomm has not issued an official press release about the chipset, and the date when it will be available from manufacturers remains unknown.
