Predictable result: due to the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League there are mass layoffs at Rocksteady Studios
The failure of the co-operative action game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League became one of the loudest and most predictable in the history of the industry. Rocksteady studio's game raised a lot of questions and surprises long before the release, but what turned out in the end - exceeded the most pessimistic expectations. The game turned out to be boring, raw, featureless and led Warner Bros Discovery media holding to $200 million losses.
Here's What We Know
The sad result was not long in coming. As reported by Eurogamer portal, Rocksteady Studios has undergone mass layoffs.
During the last month only in the quality control department of the company (which was supposed to point out the game's flaws) half of the employees were fired: 15 people out of 33 were left. Reductions are also taking place in other departments.
In general, layoffs are taking place at many gaming and IT companies, but as sad as it is to say, few have deserved it as much as Rocksteady. It is especially sad that such a failure happened to the most experienced developers - the authors of the excellent Batman: Arkham trilogy, which brought superhero games to a new level.
Neither Rocksteady nor Warner Bros. have confirmed the information yet, but by a combination of factors, these layoffs are unmistakable.
