Samsung is introducing a new facial recognition system to prevent the leakage of commercial information. On 2 September, the company will start testing the technology, which will require remote employees to scan their faces from six angles before accessing systems.

Here's What We Know

The system will be used not only by Samsung Display but also by other divisions such as Samsung Electronics, SDI and SDS.

This technology provides continuous surveillance: if the face is not recognised or another person appears, the monitor turns off.

The trade union has expressed concerns about privacy violations and considers these measures excessive.

Samsung representatives claim that the system is necessary to protect the company's technological secrets. Last year, Samsung Display already had problems with information leakage, which underlines the relevance of the new security measures.
