Tilting Point, a mobile gaming company, is laying off up to 90 employees - 20% of its staff
News of layoffs in the gaming industry continues to emerge. We wrote that Toadman Interactive was forced to close its offices in Sweden and Norway: it helped with the development of Helldivers 2. Now Tilting Point has said goodbye to some of its developers.
Here's What We Know
Tilting Point is laying off up to 90 employees, which is 20% of the staff. In total, the mobile game publisher has about 450 employees in offices in Boston, Barcelona, Kyiv, Los Angeles, New York, Seoul, and San Diego.
Tilting Point is best known for its mobile games Star Trek Legends, SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off, Narcos, Hidden Hotel, and Astrokings.
Tilting Point CEO Kevin Segalla says that the company has done everything possible to keep TP afloat. They have done everything possible to keep the business in shape for as long as possible, but they have reached a point where they have had to make some difficult decisions to continue to run a healthy and operating company.
He also assures that every effort is being made to support those who are leaving, including helping employees find new positions.
As a reminder, in January 2023, Tilting Point laid off more than 60 employees as part of a 14% staff reduction.
