Flashback

The Spike LR 2 is an advanced multi-purpose anti-tank guided missile developed by Israel's Rafael Advanced Defence Systems. The Spike LR 2 is an improved version of the previous Spike LR model. It offers longer range and improved target engagement characteristics.

The missile is capable of engaging targets up to 5.5 kilometres when launched from the ground and up to 10 kilometres when launched from a helicopter. The Spike LR 2 is equipped with an advanced guidance system with dual-channel infrared and electro-optical homing head, which allows it to operate effectively in jamming and low visibility conditions.

The missile can attack targets from above. This increases the chances of hitting armoured targets at their most vulnerable points. Spike LR 2 is capable of destroying tanks, armoured vehicles, fortified objects and even low-flying helicopters.
