Intel unveils new Core Ultra 200V processors: even more powerful and energy efficient
Intel has announced a new series of Core Ultra 200V processors, Lunar Lake generation. These processors promise improved performance and longer battery life. Intel also plans to use the Core Ultra 200V for artificial intelligence features, including Microsoft's Copilot+PC platform, which will be launched later this year.
Here's What We Know
Core Ultra 200V-based devices will start to go on sale from 24 September. Intel is working with 20 different partners, including Acer, Asus, Dell, LG, MSI and Samsung, which will ensure that the Core Ultra 200V will be present in over 80 different devices.
Intel claims that the new processors offer the "fastest CPU core" and "best performance for AI", and compared to competitors such as Qualcomm and AMD, the Core Ultra 200V will offer up to 50 per cent lower power consumption and up to 120 TOPS on CPU and GPU. Core Ultra 200V based devices are expected to run up to 20 hours without recharging.
In the gaming segment, the Core Ultra 200V also performs well, offering up to 31 per cent faster gaming performance than the competition. Intel's new processors are also reported to be 58% faster than the competition at processing artificial intelligence tasks. However, the actual performance of these chips in everyday use is yet to be evaluated.
