Fairphone has announced a new colour and configuration for its Fairphone 5 smartphone. Previously, the Fairphone 5 was available only in matte black, blue and transparent colours, as well as in one configuration (8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for €629). Now it has a new colour, Moss Green.

Here's What We Know

This variant, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, costs 549 euros.

The new configuration is also available in matte black. Both variants can be ordered on the manufacturer's website.

Fairphone 5 is made from over 70% recycled materials.

The modular design of the smartphone makes it easy to repair - owners can replace the battery, display, charging port and cameras themselves without spending money on repair shops.

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.46-inch OLED display, Qualcomm QCM 6490 chipset, three 50MP cameras and a 4200mAh battery. The phone has a 50 MP Samsung JN1 front camera, a 50 MP Sony IMX800 main camera and a 50 MP Sony IMX858 camera.

Additionally, there is a ToF sensor. The fingerprint scanner is located under the power button. The phone supports microSD cards up to 2 TB, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, two SIM cards (nano+eSIM) and has a 4200 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. A charger and USB cable are not included.

Fairphone promises to support its smartphone software until 2031. This includes at least four major operating system updates after Android 14, which was installed when the phone launched in August 2023.
