Nothing OS 3.0: Leak reveals new animations and significant design and feature changes
The well-known tech blog Smartprix has discovered a preview of Nothing OS 3.0 on the Nothing Phone 2a, revealing details of the upcoming update. This new update promises a lot of changes, including design and functionality.
Here's What We Know
Design changes
The matrix font, which was previously used in many areas of the interface, is now less noticeable. For example, the settings headings and the clock on the lock screen will use a new stylised font. However, the matrix font will remain in some areas, such as the Nothing logo and the fingerprint sensor animation.
Updated Control Centre
The new Control Centre now allows you to change the size of the switches (1×1, 1×2, 2×2). New switches have also been added, and the auto-brightness and reset buttons have been made more convenient.
New functionality
- Lock screen switches: Quick access to lock screen settings.
- Dynamic clock: A new clock format with two lines.
- Home screen settings: Reset the layout of the Home screen.
- New font: "Inter" is now available as an alternative to "Roboto".
- Smart charging mode: Options to optimise charging and battery life.
Improvements to apps and features
- Close apps from the Control Centre: Ability to close apps with sensitive permissions.
- Partial screen recording: Record a single app or the entire screen.
- Device diagnostics: Check the health of your smartphone components.
Dialer, Contacts, Gallery and other system applications will appear in the final version. This is a preview version, so some changes are possible in the final release. Nothing OS 3.0 is expected to bring even more innovations and improvements before the official release.
