Galaxy Note 20 series will no longer receive monthly security patches

Samsung has marked the fifth anniversary of the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note series. The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, which were released in August 2020, became the last flagships of this line. After that, the company focused on the Galaxy S Ultra series.

Now, these phones are starting to show their age, as starting this month, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will receive new security patches once a quarter instead of monthly updates.

Under the company's new policy, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will continue to receive security updates on a quarterly basis, likely for another year.

These phones are part of the extended support that Samsung has implemented for select devices.
