Discord has lowered the file upload limit for non-subscribers: instead of 25 MB, it's now 10
If you often share files with your friends via Discord but don't have a Nitro subscription, you won't be happy about this news.
Here's What We Know
Discord has lowered the file upload limit for users without a Nitro subscription to 10MB per file. Previously, the limit was 25 MB, but it was reduced by more than 2 times. The company explained this decision as follows:
"Every day, millions of files are uploaded to Discord and stored securely for later access. Storage management is expensive, so we regularly analyse how users use Discord and what their storage needs are. In fact, our data shows that 99% of users use files smaller than 10MB."
As a reminder, Nitro Basic offers a limit of 50 MB, and Nitro - up to 500 MB. For Basic, you will have to pay $3, and for regular - $10.
