Samsung has filed a patent application in South Korea confirming that the company is continuing to develop its sensor-shift image stabilisation technology.

Here's What We Know

This technology improves picture quality by moving the camera sensor rather than the lens. While Apple has been using this technology for several years, it has not yet been used in Samsung phones. Recent patents show that Samsung hasn't given up on the idea and continues to work on improving it.

One of the patents describes how the position of the sensor can be adjusted more accurately with less effort. This suggests that sensor-shifting cameras may appear in future Galaxy models, although the specific timeline for their introduction is still unknown. Thus, Samsung continues to research and develop new image stabilisation techniques, which could lead to better cameras in the company's future smartphones.
