"We will be able to continue our support until 2026," the minister said.
According to him, six self-propelled artillery systems are to be delivered to the Ukrainian military this year, and the remaining six - next year. The total value of the deal is €150 million.
Earlier, Germany announced that it would provide 18 PzH-2000 self-propelled artillery systems, which will be delivered to Ukraine in 2026-2027. The new aid package brings the total number of planned air defence systems to 30. So far, Ukraine has already received 14 such self-propelled artillery systems from Germany and the Netherlands.
Flashback
The PzH 2000 is a modern German 155-mm self-propelled artillery system developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall. It was adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1998. The main feature of this system is its high rate of fire - up to 10 rounds per minute - and a range of up to 40 km with conventional shells and over 60 km with rocket-propelled grenades. The self-propelled gun has an armoured cockpit, automatic loading system and modern fire control systems. The PzH 2000 is used by the armies of Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and other countries.
