Apple will double the memory of the base model iPhone 16 Pro
iPhone users who prefer the Pro model can rejoice. According to a report from Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, Apple plans to increase the base storage capacity of the iPhone 16 Pro from 128GB to 256GB, but this change could result in an increase in the device's starting price.
Here's What We Know
Last year, Apple already increased the base memory of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to 256GB, which was also accompanied by a price increase. In addition, the iPhone 16 Pro will be equipped with a tetraprism zoom lens, which was previously exclusive to the Pro Max model. Therefore, the price increase will be more acceptable.
The base models are expected to get the A18 chip, while the Pro models will get the more powerful A18 Pro processor. There may also be an increase in RAM in the standard models from 6GB to 8GB. All details about the iPhone 16 series are expected at the official presentation on 9 September.
