Downgrade proves inevitable: developers of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP reveal gameplay of the revamped action game on Nintendo Switch
Japanese studio Dragami Games has published another gameplay trailer of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, a remaster of the colourful action game about cheerleader Juliet, who is also a zombie hunter.
This time the developers showed Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP gameplay on Nintendo Switch and reported on the sacrifices they had to make to port the game to the technically weak platform.
Here's What We Know
On Nintendo, the updated game runs in Full HD resolution at 30 FPS. The developers tried not to cut down the quality of lighting and visual effects too much.
But special effects, such as reflections, had to be removed from the game in order not to overload the system. On Switch initially there will be no chainsaw marks on zombies' bodies, but Dragami Games plans to implement this option after the game release.
Overall, the graphics quality of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP on Japanese handhelds will be quite acceptable and comfortable to play through the game.
When We Can Expect It
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will release on 12 September on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be released in November.
