This year, Apple decided to make the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max as similar as possible in terms of functionality, leaving only the screen size and battery capacity. For the first time in several years, these two models have the same camera specifications.

Here's What We Know

Previously, the iPhone 15 Pro Max had a 5x telephoto lens thanks to Tetraprism technology, while the iPhone 15 Pro had only a 3x zoom. In the new models, these differences have disappeared - both versions of the iPhone 16 Pro have the same 5x telephoto lens.

Before the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro, there were rumours of an exclusive new camera sensor or superzoom feature for the Pro Max, but this did not happen. Both models have a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with f/1.78 aperture and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.8 aperture. They also received an improved 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera for better macro shots.

The main differences between the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are the screen size and battery life. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display and the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. The Pro's battery provides up to 27 hours of video playback, while the Pro Max's battery provides up to 33 hours. Also, the iPhone 16 Pro starts with 128 GB of storage, while the Pro Max starts at 256 GB.

Both models will be available for pre-order this Friday, 13 September.
