Redmi is gearing up to launch a new series of Redmi Note 14 smartphones in China, which could be unveiled as early as this month and ahead of that, the head of Redmi has revealed some of the features of the new range.

Here's What We Know

Redmi CEO Wang Teng Thomas (王腾Thomas) revealed on his Weibo page that the Note 14 smartphones "will still have an IP68 protection rating". This is most likely referring to the senior model in the Note 14 Pro+ lineup, as the predecessor Note 13 Pro+ also had an IP68 rating, while the Note 13 Pro and Note 13 were available with an IP54 rating. Whether the younger models in the Note 14 series will get the enhanced rating is not yet known.

Other improvements are expected to include improved durability and longer battery life. Last year's Note 13 Pro had a 5,100mAh battery with 67W charging support, while the Note 13 Pro+ had a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging. The new Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ models could get even higher capacity batteries.

It is also reported that the Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ will feature a 1.5K resolution OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and a 50-megapixel triple camera. The Note 14 Pro could get a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, while the Pro+ could get a Dimensity 7350.
