Flashback

The AIM-120 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile) is an advanced medium-range air-to-air missile developed by the US company Raytheon. AMRAAM is designed to engage air targets, including aircraft, drones and cruise missiles, at ranges of up to 160 kilometres, depending on the modification.

The missile is equipped with an active radar homing head, which allows it to independently aim at the target after launch. This provides a "shoot and forget" principle, allowing pilots to avoid long target tracking.

AMRAAM is capable of operating in all weather conditions and in conditions of active radar interference, making it a versatile weapon for the Air Force. The missile can be used with a variety of aircraft including the F-16, F-35 and Eurofighter Typhoon.
