Siri is not working for some iOS 18.1 beta users
Apple is preparing to release iOS 18.0 to the public next week, but users of the iOS 18.1 beta are already experiencing problems.
Here's What We Know
It turned out that Siri suddenly stopped working on iPhones and iPads with the latest iOS 18.1 beta.
According to reports on social media and confirmation by 9to5Mac, many iOS 18.1 beta 3 users are experiencing an error that says "Siri is not available" or that they need to "Connect to Wi-Fi to complete the Siri download." In the settings, you can see attempts to download updated Apple Intelligence models, but the download process never completes and Siri remains unavailable.
This problem does not affect all users, but for those who experience it, even rebooting the device does not help. Note that Macs running the macOS 15.1 beta do not experience this error.
The problem is likely related to the update of Apple Intelligence language models, which may be broken in the new iOS 18.1 beta build released for iPhone 16 models.
It is not yet known whether Apple will be able to resolve this issue with a server-side update or whether a new iOS 18.1 beta will be required.
