The US Army and BAE Systems have signed a contract worth more than $440 million for the production of additional Bradley fighting vehicles.

Here's What We Know

The agreement covers the production of more than 200 A4 variants. This variant is the latest upgraded version of the company's vehicle that is already in production. In addition, the future vehicles will replace outdated Bradleys and fill the gaps that appeared after the United States transferred several hundred units to Ukraine.

The Bradley A4 is a critical next-generation vehicle. Its effectiveness can be seen in Ukraine, when Bradleys saved Ukrainian defenders from a variety of Russian weapons.

The vehicle was created in the 1980s to transport soldiers on the battlefield and provide fire support. The Bradley is also equipped with a 25 mm automatic cannon, a TOW ATGM and a machine gun. It has armour to protect against small arms and shrapnel and has been used in many operations, including the Gulf War and Iraq.
