The iPhone 16 instead of the claimed 45W fast charging, in practice supports a maximum of 39W
Earlier there was information that the certification of smartphones iPhone 16 showed support for fast wired charging up to 45W, but as it turned out, in practice, everything is not quite so.
Here's What We Know
According to whistleblower @UniverseIce, recent hands-on tests have shown that iPhone 16 models, despite the claimed support for charging up to 45W, only charge up to 39W in practice. This limitation is likely due to the fact that Apple chose not to mention this improvement at its presentation. While devices can support charging up to 45W, actual charging speeds are limited to 40W.
This is still a significant improvement over previous iPhone models, which charged to a maximum of 29 watts. For users switching from older models, this will be a noticeable improvement. However, for owners of Android devices that have long supported faster charging speeds, it may seem insignificant. To take advantage of the improved fast charging capabilities, users will need a 40W or higher adapter, which must be purchased separately.
