There have long been rumours on the web that Microsoft, inspired by the huge popularity of devices such as Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, ASUS Rog Ally, MSI Claw and Nintendo Switch, is developing its own portable gaming console.

This information is far from being officially confirmed, but the fact that such work is underway is beyond doubt, as this market segment is actively developing and Microsoft cannot ignore such a business opportunity.

A reputable insider shared interesting information that relates to the portable Xbox (the name is conditional).

Here's What We Know

Insider eXtas1s, who regularly reports reliable information, said that AMD recently held a closed presentation of the new AMD Z2 Extreme chip, which will arrive on the market in 2025 and will offer a significant performance boost relative to the previous model, which was used, in particular, in ASUS ROG Ally.

eXtas1s noted that the presentation was attended by representatives of Xbox and they were there not out of idle curiosity, but were looking for a supplier of components for the portable console from Microsoft.

It is possible that AMD and Microsoft will (or already have) a partnership agreement and in a few years customers will be offered a new device based on the Z2 Extreme chip.
