Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold get access to Android 15 beta
Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are now eligible to join the Android 15 beta testing programme following the release of Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2. Previously, only the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL had access to the beta, along with Android 15 Beta 4.2.
Here's What We Know
To sign up for the beta, Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro Fold users can go to google.com/android/beta and click the "Enable" button. You can also update the system via the Settings, System, Software update menu. This is the first beta version of Android 15 for new models.
Android 15 QPR1, which will be officially released in December, introduces several new features such as an updated Settings app, new screen recording, improvements for Cast in the status bar, an option to limit battery charge to 80%, a new key to switch the keyboard, and a long press animation for the Quick Access Bar.
The new Android 15 is mostly stable, but there are a few bugs. Sometimes shortcuts on the lock screen may not show up until they are moved in Wallpapers & Styles. You may have to force stop the app to resolve this issue.
The new desktop window for Pixel Tablet does not work with the original Pixel Fold in beta, and this may also apply to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
