NVIDIA is ready to switch to Samsung GPUs
NVIDIA is ready to consider the possibility of manufacturing its chips at Samsung's factories. NVIDIA usually works with TSMC, but due to high demand and geopolitical risks associated with tensions between China and Taiwan, it is considering switching to production with other companies such as Samsung.
Here's What We Know
At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia and Technology Conference, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang confirmed that the company is open to cooperation with other manufacturers if necessary. Huang noted that although TSMC is the industry leader, NVIDIA is ready to consider alternatives if it helps to avoid supply disruptions.
Samsung, the second-largest chipmaker after TSMC, is actively developing its technology, including 3nm and 2nm processes based on GAA technology. Despite these efforts, TSMC remains the market leader with a 62% share, while Samsung has 11%.
NVIDIA sees Samsung as a possible alternative to ensure an uninterrupted supply of chips in the event of problems with TSMC.
