Tecno officially unveiled new folding models Phantom V Flip2 and Phantom V Fold2 with built-in AI assistant

Tecno has announced the launch of two new foldable smartphones - Phantom V Flip2 and Phantom V Fold2. Both models are equipped with the built-in AI assistant Ella based on Google Gemini, which offers a number of new features.

Tecno Phantom V Fold2

This model has an improved design with a slimmer body - less than 6.1 mm when unfolded and less than 12 mm when folded. Despite the reduced thickness, the weight has been reduced to 249 grams, and the battery has become more capacious.

The Phantom V Fold2 is equipped with a Dimensity 9000+ chip, a 7.85-inch internal screen and a 6.42-inch display on the lid. The novelty has a 50MP triple camera, as well as two 32MP front cameras.

AI features include Smart Q&A, AI Summary for working with PDFs and web pages, AI Translation for live translation during calls, and AI Writing for writing and proofreading texts. In addition, there is AI Artboard for turning simple drawings into paintings and AI Wallpaper for creating unique wallpapers.

Tecno Phantom V Flip2

The Phantom V Flip2 features a large 3.64-inch square external screen, which replaced the old round panel. The internal display is a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution. The external display supports more than 2000 apps and has interactive elements for customisation.

The model is equipped with two 50 MP cameras and a 32 MP front camera. The battery has a capacity of 4720 mAh with 70W charging support, which provides a 50% charge in 15 minutes.

Phantom V Fold2 costs $1,099 and Phantom V Flip2 costs $699. Both smartphones will go on sale in Africa on 23 September, and will be available in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America later.
