Recently, more and more developers prefer to release their games in early access, as this model allows them to get profit faster and improve the project taking into account the wishes of gamers.

However, the Croatian indie studio Overseer Games - the author of the ambitious strategy Kaiserpunk in the World War I setting - decided to abandon this idea.

Here's What We Know

The developers have announced that Kaiserpunk will not be released on Steam Early Access, instead they plan to release the full game on 27 February 2025.

In its post, Overseer Games noted that Kaiserpunk has been added to the wishlist of over 130,000 gamers and the studio believes that they deserve to get the game right away in the best possible condition.

Our small team of 10 has worked tirelessly to ensure that Kaiserpunk exceeds the expectations of the 130,000 players who have already added the game to their wishlist. We made the difficult decision to postpone the release, but we believe it was the right choice. An early access option was considered, but in the end we felt that it would not fulfil the full vision of Kaiserpunk.

Besides, unfortunately, the developers haven't signed a publishing deal yet, because the companies Overseer Games approached don't realise the full potential of Kaiserpunk, but the authors are confident in the success of their game.

Recall, the events of Kaiserpunk will unfold in the early XX century, where the First World War did not end, but got an alternative development.

Kaiserpunk gameplay is focused on building a city-state and competent management of all production processes and effective reflection of enemy attacks on the ground, in the air and at sea.

The game provides a huge amount of details that will not be obvious at the first acquaintance with Kaiserpunk. Production chains are influenced by more than a hundred different factors, and the city's resources depend on the decisions made and facilities built. Logistics should be treated with the utmost care, and not only local, but also global.
