The developers of Sid Meier's Civilisation VII introduced Queen Hatshepsut and talked about the updated age change system
Firaxis Games studio held another stream dedicated to the historical 4X-strategy Sid Meier's Civilisation VII. The broadcast lasted almost two hours and perhaps few people can afford to spend so much time watching videos, so we have collected the main news from the developers.
Here's What We Know
Firaxis has presented one more playable leader of nations - the queen of Ancient Egypt and the first female pharaoh Hatshepsut (Hatshepsut).
As in real history, in the game she prefers not to wage wars of conquest, but to engage in trade, spend the money received on the construction of magnificent buildings, and all disputes with neighbours to regulate with the help of diplomacy.
The main goal of the "Wife of the God of Amon" is to leave a legacy and memory in the centuries, and both about herself and the state.
The developers paid attention to the system of changing epochs, focusing separately on Antiquity. As you know, each game in Sid Meier's Civilisation VII is divided into three eras: Antiquity, the Age of Discovery and the present day, and at each stage players will have different goals, priorities, features and game opportunities. When reaching the required level of development, the Nation chosen by the player moves to the next period and is replaced by a state of the corresponding time, while retaining the main features of the predecessor country and its development vector.
In the new game, the developers want to give all historical eras unique features and individuality to make each game exciting and unpredictable.
By the way, Firaxis representatives mentioned that a huge percentage of players in Civilisation VI have never completed a single game. In their opinion, this indicates that after reaching a certain stage, gamers lose interest in the game, so the developers intend to ensure that Civilization VII will not have such a situation.
When We Can Expect It
Sid Meier's Civilization VII will be released on 11 February on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
