WhatsApp introduces the ability to transfer ownership of communities
WhatsApp is actively testing new features and one of them is already available for some beta users. According to information from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started rolling out the community ownership transfer feature.
Here's What We Know
This feature allows community owners to transfer their rights to another member while retaining their admin status. This means that the previous community owner transfers their basic administrative privileges, but remains an admin and can be downgraded or removed by another admin.
At the moment, WhatsApp users who are community owners cannot fully transfer their administrative privileges to other members. They have to create a new community and invite members of the old one to join it. The new feature solves this problem.
The Android version of WhatsApp beta 2.24.19.34 already contains the new functionality, but for now it is available to a limited number of users. The feature is expected to be available to all users soon.
