If you were worried that Sony might one day give up on PlayStation, the company assured that this would not happen, and consoles remain a priority for the Japanese giant.

Here's What We Know

Hideaki Nishino, the head of the platform business group at Sony Interactive Entertainment, was asked by the Japanese edition of Nikkei if he could summarise the value of consoles.

He said that mobile devices have many games that show ads and computers are difficult to set up, but as soon as you switch on a PlayStation, you can immediately use the content you bought.

He also noted that the store where you buy games also offers an intuitive experience because the products are laid out in an easy-to-understand way.

We are trying to increase our share of the overall gaming market by developing content for PC as well. No doubt, consoles will be the backbone of our business, but by offering games for other platforms, we will be able to reach a wider range of customers

And while PlayStation games, such as Helldivers 2, were released simultaneously for PS5 and PC, PlayStation players will continue to receive Sony's story-driven games first.
