Apple's HomePod smart speakers have started receiving a new software version

Apple has started rolling out update number 18 to the HomePod and HomePod mini smart speakers.

Here's What We Know

Apple has added the ability to select a Home Hub instead of automatically selecting HomeKit in the firmware. There's also SharePlay, which allows multiple people to collaboratively control playback on the HomePod via Apple Music. Also, AirPlay on the HomePod now supports Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.

When We Can Expect It

Update 18 is available now for HomePod and HomePod mini owners. The system installs automatically or manually through the speaker's settings.
