Electronic Arts would like to see the next Battlefield on Switch, but first we need to wait for the console's announcement
We wrote that Electronic Arts has revealed the first official information about the new instalment of the famous Battlefield series of shooters. The game will be 100% released on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. But what is the situation with Switch? The console is not capable of launching such a game now, but Nintendo is going to show a new console within a year and EA would like to see a new Battlefield there.
Here's What We Know
The head of the series, Vince Zampella, in a conversation with IGN, although he did not officially confirm anything, noted that EA would like to see the next Battlefield on Switch.
"I mean, since Switch 2 hasn't been announced, I can't comment on that. But what I can say for sure is that Nintendo, as well as Microsoft and Sony, are great partners of ours, important to our business at EA, and we would love to see it there.
As for the details of the game, we can highlight the following points from Zampella's interview
- full production of the new Battlefield started in early 2024. Five studios are working on it: Respawn, DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect, and Criterion;
- internal testing of the new part is carried out once a week, and in 2025, it is planned to involve gamers in this process through a "community programme";
- Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 are taken as the main reference point for development, as Zampella considers them to be the best in the series.
More details are expected later.
