Google Drive update adds the ability to restrict access to folders
Google has announced an important update to the Drive app that allows you to restrict access to folders. This update is available in beta for now and can be used by administrators managing Google Drive.
Here's What We Know
The new feature allows administrators to manage access to folders in shared drives by restricting access to specific users. This update provides more flexibility in content management, allowing you to store important information in a single shared drive but restrict access to sensitive data.
Restricted folders will be visible to all users, but only those who have been added directly will be able to open them. Administrators who want to try out the feature before its official release can apply to participate in beta testing. The feature will be available for Google Workspace customers with a variety of pricing plans, including Business, Enterprise and Education.
