Galaxy S21 FE in the US gets September 2024 security update

Samsung continues to support its smartphones with the latest security updates. This month, Galaxy S21 FE devices in the US are receiving the September 2024 security update.

Here's What We Know

This applies to carrier-locked versions used on AT&T, Comcast, Dish, Metro PCS, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks.

The update includes fixes for 67 vulnerabilities identified in the previous version of the software, but no new features or significant performance improvements. The new firmware version has the code G990USQSCGXH1.

Galaxy S21 FE users can check for the update by going to the settings of their smartphone and selecting the "Software Update" section. It is also possible to manually download the firmware from the database and install it.

In terms of operating system updates, the Galaxy S21 FE will receive Android 15 based on One UI 7.0 at the end of this year, and Android 16 in 2025.
