Apple releases repair manuals for iPhone 16 and 16 Pro
Apple has shared repair guides for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. These documents contain detailed instructions for replacing original parts and are intended for qualified technicians with the appropriate experience and tools.
Here's What We Know
Apple has also prepared guides on the tools needed for repair. Although specialised tools for the iPhone 16 are not yet available on the Apple Self Service Repair website, they are expected to be available soon.
Compared to previous models, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are easier to repair. Apple uses an electrical process to replace the battery, which makes it easier to remove. However, for the 16 Pro and Pro Max models, traditional adhesive tabs must be used.
Apple has also made changes to the design of the new iPhones to make them more maintainable. For example, the Face ID camera and LiDAR scanner can be repaired. The manuals also reveal new details about the internal structure of the devices, such as the new metal battery case in the iPhone 16 Pro.
