The US unveiled Project 33, according to which the army will be prepared for war with China in the coming years
The US Navy has released Project 33, which focuses on seven key areas of preparation for a potential conflict with China by 2027.
Here's What We Know
It is part of the US Navy's 2024 Navigation Plan (NAVPLAN), which US Navy Admiral Lisa Franchetti described as "a comprehensive strategic guide to improving fleet readiness".
The project aims to help "prioritise readiness for a potential conflict with the People's Republic of China by 2027, as well as increase the Navy's long-term combat advantage".
When it comes to the seven key areas of training, the first is to scale up robotic and autonomous systems "to rapidly integrate more platforms".
The others are to create command centres to succeed in a distributed battlefield, attract and retain talented people, provide quality services, invest in warfighter training, and restore critical infrastructure.
