Three updates and two paid DLCs for Homeworld 3 will be released simultaneously in November: space strategy developers change post-release support plan
Fans of the space strategy series Homeworld have been waiting for the release of the third part for 20 years, but when the game did come out (in May 2024) - it disappointed most gamers and does not stand comparison with the past parts.
Long before the release of Homeworld 3, the developers from Blackbird Interactive shared ambitious plans to support the game, but due to the barrage of criticism, they somewhat revised them.
Here's What We Know
The studio announced that all the content that was planned for the first year of Homeworld 3 support and was supposed to be released gradually, will be released on one day in November, the exact date will be announced later. What the developers promised to release for free - will be free, that for which they planned to charge extra money - will remain in the same format.
It is stated that three major updates and two paid DLC will be released simultaneously, and the first year Season Pass purchasers will get all the announced content automatically.
Homeworld 3 will feature over forty additional artefacts, challenges, story missions. Paid DLC will add factions for War Games mode, ships, trials, and new artefacts.
The change of plans will help studio Blackbird Interactive free up additional resources to develop further updates and DLC that will be part of the second year of support.
