Apple's next iPhone will be one of the cheapest: what to expect from the iPhone SE 4
After the release of the iPhone 16, many fans are wondering what will happen next. The next one is likely to be the iPhone SE 4, which is scheduled to be released next spring. This will be the first update to the SE series in three years.
Here's What We Know
New design and better display
Apple may finally ditch the old iPhone 8 design. The next iPhone SE will have a new design similar to the iPhone 14. It will have a larger 6.1-inch OLED display, flat edges, and Face ID. However, it will still have a single camera, not a dual camera like the iPhone 14.
The iPhone SE 4 may get an action button similar to the one introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro.
The iPhone SE 4 will also be the first in the series to ditch the Lightning connector in favour of USB-C. This change is due to new EU regulations requiring the unification of charging ports. Now iPhone SE buyers will be able to use the same cable to charge their iPads and laptops.
Apple Intelligence in the budget segment
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPhone SE 4 may support Apple Intelligence with an A18 chip and 8GB of RAM. Apple seems to be looking to introduce new features even in its cheapest iPhone. Apple Intelligence will include new writing tools, Photos Clean Up, and an updated Siri.
Prices for the iPhone SE
The new iPhone SE will cost around $499.
