Roman Shimonov, CEO of Roshel Smart Armoured Vehicles, said that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the company has supplied 1,400 armoured vehicles of the Senator family to Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

Since June of this year, about 300 Senator vehicles have been delivered, most likely in the mine-resistant version. This is not only a huge financial and production success for the company, but above all, reliable and regular support for Ukrainian soldiers.

The purchase of Senator vehicles for Ukraine was funded by Canada, the Czech Republic and the United States. However, according to available data, this is not even half of the vehicles that were sent to Kyiv, so the main donor remains unknown.

In addition, the Canadian company is currently working on opening a plant in Ukraine based on the existing capabilities to service its vehicles there. It is possible that by the end of the year, the number of Senator vehicles delivered will reach 2,000.

Flashback

Senator is a family of 4x4 armoured vehicles, the first version of which was presented in October 2018 at the AUSA exhibition in Washington. It is based on a modified Ford F-550 chassis. The vehicle is highly resistant to small arms, has a reinforced underbody and can be fitted with a turret system. The vehicle is driven by an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 6.7 litres and a power output of 330 hp. In the wheeled armoured personnel carrier version, the vehicle can accommodate up to 12 soldiers, including the driver and commander.
