Russia to increase military spending to $142bn - Bloomberg
Bloomberg has reviewed the draft three-year budget of the Russian Federation and reported that Russia plans to increase military spending to $142 billion (13.2 trillion rubles) in 2025.

Even for Russia, this is a fairly large amount, as it equals 6.2% of gross domestic product. For comparison, 10.4 trillion rubles were planned for 2024.
The publication notes that in 2025, Russia's spending on national defence and internal security will exceed funding for education, healthcare, social policy and the economy, accounting for about 40% of the aggressor country's total budget expenditure.
According to Bloomberg's estimates based on the draft Russian budget, Russia plans to slightly reduce military spending in the coming years: to 5.6% of GDP in 2026 and 5.1% in 2027.
At the same time, Russia's spending on classified or unspecified items is expected to increase to 12.9 trillion rubles in 2025, up from 11.1 trillion this year, accounting for approximately 30% of the aggressor country's total budget expenditure.
