Ubisoft's recent releases have been a failure and have shaken the company's position both financially and reputationally. After the release of Star Wars Outlaws, investors even demanded that Ubisoft CEO and co-founder Yves Guillemot be fired.

Probably because of the series of failures the company made a radical decision: it announced the postponement of Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Here's What We Know

The game, which was heavily criticised immediately after the announcement, was supposed to be released on November 15 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but this will not happen.

The development team published a statement saying that Assassin's Creed Shadows is an extremely ambitious game that will be the most ambitious part of the series. Gamers have been waiting for years for a game in the setting of feudal Japan and in order to realise all their ideas at a decent level, the developers need extra time.

And in fact, it is Assassin's Creed Shadows that will determine Ubisoft's future fate, and if this game fails, there is little to save the French publisher.

But there is good news: the developer announced that the game will be released on more platforms, including Steam, and all those who pre-order the game will get the first expansion for free. By the way, the developers will refund the money for the pre-order placed before the game was ported, and everyone who wants to pre-order the game will be able to do it again.

The game's Steam page will appear soon.
