We wrote that Ghost of Yōtei was announced at State of Play. At the same time, we learned about Sony's plans for the Ghost franchise.

Here's What We Know

Sony plans to turn the series into a major franchise. For example, a film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima is in development since 2021 under the direction of Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick films.

In addition, several spin-off games will be developed, so there will be plenty of projects in the Ghost franchise in the future.

In Yōtei, we play as a woman named Atsu, and the story takes place in 1603, more than 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The story takes place in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, a towering peak in the heart of Ezo, the region of Japan known today as Hokkaido. It will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
