On 8 October, the long-awaited Silent Hill 2 remake will be released on PC and PlayStation 5. However, if it wasn't for the developer Bloober Team, PC gamers wouldn't be able to play it.

Here's What We Know

Bloober CEO Piotr Babieno said that publisher Konami planned to release the game only on PlayStation 5. But Bloober's request was heard and the game will be released on 2 platforms at once.

"Silent Hill 2 is definitely a game that has been associated with the PlayStation brand from the very beginning. At the very beginning, we had to put a lot of pressure on Konami to lean towards a PC release. For them, PlayStation is the main market, but looking at the interest in Steam, it seems like it should be a successful launch as well," said Bloober's CEO.

Flashback

Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the cult survival horror game. Having received a letter from his late wife, James sets off in the hope of seeing her again in the city with which they are connected by memories: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he meets a woman who looks very much like her. But what really brought him to the town?

Bloober Team is in charge of the development. The team approaches the remake with great care and respect for the original game. The developers work closely with the creators of the original game to preserve the unique atmosphere of Silent Hill 2. They are creating the game on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. Along with this, they use Lumen for lighting and Nanite for level design. All this will help to update the foggy city and enhance its atmosphere.

One of the features of the horror remake will be a standard third-person view. Also, the game will rebuild the combat system and improve facial animations to better convey the emotions of the characters.
