"Outbreak Day" is an event in The Last of Us that took place on 26 September 2013 with the outbreak of the cordyceps infection, which changed the world into "before" and "after". In honour of this day, every year PlayStation announces something themed around the game. And this year, Sony's gaming division celebrates its 30th anniversary, and it became known what fans of the game will receive.

Here's What We Know

Firstly, as we have already written, the remake of the cult game The Last of Us was included in the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue on 26 September. If you were hesitant to purchase the remake of the first The Last of Us, Sony has made the decision for you and now you can play for free (you only need to pay for a subscription).

Starting from 26 September, you can get new avatars for your account featuring key characters from The Last of Us. Choose from Ellie, Joel, or even Clicker. The avatar voucher will be available on the PlayStation Plus website and on The Last of Us page on the PS Plus Hub on your console. Avatars can be picked up until 26 October.

And where without discounts on merchandise. From 26 September to 26 October, PlayStation Plus members can take advantage of a 10% discount on select The Last of Us merchandise at PlayStation Gear. Just enter the promo code TLOUPLUS10 at checkout.

However, today we may also see a trailer for The Last of Us season two. By the way, we already know that the second season will tell the backstory of "one important character".
