Huawei unveiled its innovative Mate XT Ultimate triple fold smartphone this month and other companies are expected to unveil similar devices soon too. However, it is reported that OPPO is not going to release a triple foldable smartphone anytime soon despite the interest in the technology.

Here's What We Know

OPPO China's president, Liu Bo, explained that the company sees triple foldable smartphones as a technology demonstration rather than a mass-market product. OPPO also sees little demand for such devices and prefers to focus on improving the quality of its current mobile phones and peripherals.

Although Huawei has unveiled its 3-screen Mate XT Ultimate smartphone, which costs around $3000 dollars and is only available in China for now, OPPO believes that the market is not ready for such devices yet. Xiaomi, meanwhile, plans to release its tri-fold smartphone by 2026, with a model without physical buttons expected in 2025. OPPO, on the other hand, is still working on its flagship Find X8 series, which will be released on 21 October 2024.
