Exynos 2400e processor, 4700 mAh battery and 7 years of Android updates: Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S24 FE smartphone

The time of rumours and leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE smartphone is over as this model has finally been officially unveiled.

So, a few hours ago, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S24 FE, the fourth model in the Galaxy S24 series and the fourth in the Fan Edition series. As previously speculated, the new S24 FE features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with an adaptive refresh rate of 60Hz to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1900 nits. The bezels around the display have become narrower compared to its predecessor, but the "chin" is still in place, just like the past models.

Inside the device is installed Exynos 2400e processor, which has a slightly lower maximum frequency than the original Exynos 2400, and for autonomy is responsible for a battery capacity of 4700 mAh, which maximally supports the same 25W power adapter as its predecessor, and there is also a function of wireless charging at 15W.

The main camera is 50 MP (f/1.8) with optical stabilisation (OIS), complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle (f/2.2) and 8 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4) with 3x optical zoom and also with OIS support. Support for ProVisual AI algorithms is present. The front camera has a 10 MP sensor (f/2.4).

The Galaxy S24 FE runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 and will receive 7 years of Android and security updates, keeping the device relevant until autumn 2031 and support up to and including Android 21. The new S24 FE has the same artificial intelligence capabilities as the flagship Galaxy S24 series. The smartphone will be able to generate texts, edit images, add different objects on them, create unique home screen backgrounds, translate conversations in real time and more. Other features include IP68 water and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support.

The S24 FE measures 162.0 x 77.3 x 8.0mm, weighs 213g and is available in five colours: yellow, mint, blue and graphite, with 8/128, 8/256 and 8/512GB storage options. The recommended price in Europe is €749. Pre-orders for the smartphone are already open and actual sales will start from 3 October.
