Recently, new information about Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards has appeared on the web. According to the well-known insider Kopite7kimi, the GeForce RTX 5090 will have 32 GB of video memory, while the RTX 5080 will have 16 GB.

Here's What We Know

Both models will have increased power consumption compared to their predecessors.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090

The flagship RTX 5090 (PG144/145-SKU30) will be equipped with 21,760 CUDA cores. Although the exact number of Streaming Multiprocessors (SMs) is not yet known, it is known that it will have 32 GB of GDDR7 VRAM on a 512-bit bus with a total bandwidth of approximately 1.5 TB/s. The maximum power consumption (TGP) will be 600W, which will probably require two 12VHPWR cables for power supply.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080

The RTX 5080 (GB203-400-A1) will have 10,752 CUDA cores and 16 GB of video memory on a 256-bit bus, which will provide a bandwidth of approximately 750 GB/s. Its TGP will be 400W, which is a significant increase compared to the RTX 4080, which has a 320W figure.

The RTX 5090 looks like a powerful solution, while the RTX 5080 looks like a mid-range upgrade. It is expected that similar changes will affect lower-end models, so there may be more cards with 8GB of video memory in the future.

The exact release date is still unknown.
