Google Pixel 8 Pro and 9 Pro smartphones have a new feature - a temperature sensor on the back.

Here's What We Know

This sensor allows you to measure the temperature of objects and even people. Google is currently working on improving this process.

According to the latest news, the Pixel Thermometer software may soon have an automatic temperature control feature. Currently, users need to manually select the material they are measuring: food, metal, or glass.

Google is developing the ability to automatically detect materials. There are indications in the application code that the phone will be able to determine the object it is aiming at.

According to the information, Google also plans to use the TFLite lightweight machine learning model for this feature, which will allow for automatic object recognition through the phone's camera. Although the update has not yet been released, developers are already testing it.

As soon as the new feature becomes available, it will be integrated into the material selection interface in the app.
