Publishers don't want to name release dates for their games until Rockstar announces Grand Theft Auto VI release date

Grand Theft Auto VI will be one of the biggest releases ever. The game will eclipse the attention of many projects for several months. And that is why many developers are in no hurry to announce the release dates of their games.

In the Unlocked podcast, journalist Jason Schreyer from Bloomberg said that we probably won't know the release dates of many games scheduled for 2025 until Rockstar announces the release date of GTA 6. Publishers and developers simply do not want to compete with such a giant.

Schreyer reminded that this already happened in 2018, when Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was released earlier to avoid overlapping with Red Dead Redemption 2.

We would like to remind you that Rockstar still plans to release GTA VI in autumn 2025.
